The X National Congress of Public Libraries of Spain will be held in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on November 10th, 11th and 12th, 2021 in double format: face-to-face and virtual.

The Congress is promoted and organized by the General Directorate of Books and the Promotion of Reading through the General Sub-Directorate of Library Coordination, in collaboration with the Government of the Canary Islands, the Cabildo de Gran Canaria and the City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. It also has the support of a scientific committee with representatives from the library networks of the autonomous communities and professional associations.

Public libraries have been immersed in a process of profound transformation for years, as a consequence of both great technological advances and complex social changes. But since  the COVID 19 pandemic, libraries have had to adapt quickly to enhance their virtual services, enhancing those they already had and implementing new ones in order to continue their essential work.
