Historical novel

In its tenth edition, the Certamen Internacional de Novela Histórica de Úbeda (the Úbeda International Historical Novel Contest) opens to Latin America and establishes its principles in a Manifesto.

The organizing committee of the tenth edition of the Úbeda International Historical Novel Contest, (composed by Pablo Lozano Antonelli, Jesús Maeso de la Torre, Salvador Compán, Luis Foronda, Pedro Pablo Uceda, Alberto Sanfrutos and Sebastián Lozano Mudarra) have drawn up a Manifesto, after a long reflexion on the path traveled so far on the occasion of this tenth anniversary, to establish their position relating to what they believe the role that the historical novel can and should play in terms of literary work, the diffusion of historical events and the facts contained in them.  In addition to the awards, they also addressed the type of activities to continue supporting, and the need to create shared spaces with historical novel writers of the Spanish-American countries with whom a common language is shared and with whom to establish an open, fraternal and enriching relationship.
