A change of relevance in the publishing business in Spain. Today, Telefónica and Planeta announced an agreement for the sale of Nubico, their digital subscription platform, to the Swedish company Nextory.

The financial terms of the transaction have not been detailed.

In a statement, both companies indicate that the operation is the first step for the launch in Spain of Nextory, one of the fastest growing digital reading services in Europe. Before the end of 2021, Nubico will migrate their technology platform and change their name to Nextory.  Upon launch, the application will offer a subscription service with unlimited access to a single and extensive catalog, with more than 300,000 digital titles.
