The report-survey COVID-19 and its effect on writers and translators, promoted by the Asociación Colegial de Escritores de España (ACE) and prepared with the collaboration of CEDRO, is the first attempt to analyze the effects that the pandemic has had in regards to the professional work and income.
The report collects a series of data that defines more precisely the situation of authors during the pandemic. It should be noted that a third of those surveyed have had their advance payments delayed and copyright settlements postponed. In general, this postponement has not been given a date on which accounts will be settled and the delays have been greater than 60 days. Also, half of those surveyed have had their contracts canceled or postponed. The groups most affected by this have been translators and playright writers: 7 out of 10 playwrights saw the staging of their works canceled. The use of state aid or funds, CEDRO's COVID-19 Fund, etc ... is also recorded in the survey and in the report.
