The magazine is dedicated to the creation, diffusion and criticism of literature and culture.
La Esquina Rota, as a space for literary and cultural expression, debuted in 2020, in the midst of the pandemic being experienced in the world. However, its roots go back to the nineties in classrooms of different faculties of the National University of Colombia and in the many meadows that surround the city.
Between classes, books and gatherings, some of us were able to leave the corners of the popular neighborhoods to join the academic dynamics and welcome the promises of the cultural life. In those years the world of entertainment was not given the importance that is has today. Still the appreciation of the arts and books weighed a certain admiration that allowed to differentiate them from the entertainment products. To put it another way, the literary recommendations still corresponded to certain specialized magazines and not to reporters of the entertainment section in the news.
