The congress will be held with the slogan "The proofreader in times of desktop publishing."

For the first time, Colombia will be the country in charge of the International Congress of Proof Readers in Spanish (6th CICTE), an event that will take place with the slogan "The proof reader in times of desktop publishing." Likewise, it will also be the first time that it is held virtually, a welcome news for language lovers, since holding it virtuality will help more people to participate in the event. The congress will be held on August 12th, 13th and 14th, as part of FILBo's program and is organized by the Colombian Association of Language Style Correctors (Correcta).

Why "The proofreader in the days of desktop publishing"?  Correcta considers it necessary to expand the definition and function of the language style corrector. This is a time in which independent authors not only seek correction of their texts, but also and specifically, a linguistic consultant, which demands that the proofreader broaden their knowledge, mainly in everything related to the editorial process.
