Todoliteratura interviews Miguel Rubio

"Suave como la lluvia" is the fifth novel by writer Miguel Rubio, a domestic noir that leaves readers shocked both by what the author narrates and by the way he does it, in the purest style of the American crime novel. The narrator-main character describes some really horrifying facts.

The narrative contains several twists and turns that will take the reader along increasingly dark and intriguing paths until it ends with a surprising finish.

Miguel Rubio places his novel in one of the most traditional neighborhoods of Madrid, Tetuán, whose population is changing due to immigration. The protagonists are absolutely authentic and, at the same time, complicated. All the complexities that humble people in a marginal neighborhood face and to whom a thousand and one adverse situations happen. Not to mention that the main character, who has only a couple of months to live, wants to take stock of his miserable life. He is quite a loser, who will be betrayed by many and helped by few.  But even so he manages to come out afloat. In the interview, the author reveals a secret from his book, but without giving many clues so as not to ruin the intrigue.
