TodoLiteratura interviews writer Joel Santamaría

The writer and literature professor, Joel Santamaría, has just published his third novel "Nocturnalia" (Espasa Publishing House).

This is his second foray into the historical genre.  He previously published "Dies irae", a work that takes place during the Middle Ages. On this occasion, Rome is the focus of his book, where he narrates, among other things, what the mystery cults were like in Imperial Rome and specifically in the city of Tarraco.

The author of "Nocturnalia" has achieved a well-documented novel in the many rites that were tolerated in Rome up until the 3rd century.  Shortly after when Christianity became the official religion they were persecuted. There was even burning of witches, as would happen centuries later throughout Europe. Joel Santamaría has written a fast-paced and entertaining work where he describes an investigation into certain murders that occurred in the capital of Hispania Citerior. In this interview, he tells us a secret about those mystery cults, leaving the door open for readers to enjoy the many mysteries in his novel.
