Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial (PRHGE) has signed an agreement with RBA for the acquisition of the children and young adult publishing labels from Molino, Serres, and the Catalan-language label, La Magrana, reinforcing their presence in these sectors.
The announcement of this agreement has been made by Núria Cabutí, CEO of Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial, and by Ricardo Rodrigo, President of Grupo RBA. According to the statement, the terms of the transaction will not be made public. The deal is expected to close once the legal and administrative requirements have been met.
The intention on the part of PRHGE is that the Molino and Serres labels maintain their identity, profession and independence and will expand their distribution in Latin America. The catalogs of Molino and Serres include great references of young adult literature such as' The Hunger Games', by Suzanne Collins, 'Divergent', by Veronica Roth, and classics of children's entertainment such as 'Diary of A Wimpy Kid,’ by Jeff Kinney,' Dork Diaries' by Rachel Renée Russell, 'Case Closed' by Lauren Magaziner and' The Cow That Laid an Egg’ by Andy Cutbill. Other classic authors and series such as Enyd Blyton and 'Choose Your Own Adventure' also enrich the heritage of these labels.
