Since yesterday afternoon, the giant screens of Times Square have celebrated the unprecedented success of young writer Javier Castillo (Málaga, 1987), who may already add a new milestone to his unstoppable career: being the first Spaniard to have his image fill the screens of the mythical New York City Square.
“El Juego del Alma” (Penguin Random House, 2021), the fifth novel by the writer from Málaga, has been breaking all records since its launch on March 25th. After a single day in the market, Javier Castillo announced on his social networks that a second edition was already on the works, managing to reach the figure of one copy sold every eight seconds in its first hours on the market. Likewise, on Sant Jordi festival, "El Juego del Alma" became the third best-selling book.
It is now the USA’s turn to prepare to welcome this king of suspense, whose latest title in Spanish, will be released on May 11th, reaching more than 60 million Spanish-speakers throughout the country.
