Nine literary adaptations for Book Day

According to a recent study by the online research company Toluna, 62% of Spaniards prefer to read the novel before seeing its adaptation to the small or the big screen.

For this reason, we have prepared a list for Book Day with the most desirable literary-based series of 2021, some already debuting and others yet to come.

Behind Her Eyes, a novel by British writer Sarah Pinborough, published in Spain by the Runas Publishing House at the end of 2017, became famous on Twitter because its bizarre ending led to the creation of the hashtag #WTFthatending, which would come to be something more or less to #Quédemoniosesefinal in Spanish. The uproar generated alerted Netflix, which did not miss the opportunity to acquire the rights to this gimmicky thriller and commissioned Steve Lightfoot - who had already proven his worth as a showrunner for the two seasons of The Punisher - to lead the television adaptation, which premiered on February 17.
