There are several stories in her book narrated in the feminine first person plural. Not common, right?
There was an obvious plural voice, that of the Greek choir, who was the one who really knew what was going on. For me, that “we” encompasses the invisible people of the service, for example, the people whom the world has considered disposable. The maid, the girl, those whose names have been erased and rebel within us.
