The Spanish Ministry of Culture will reinforce eBiblio with an investment of 4 million Euros in new licenses for electronic publications.

During the state of alarm, the Ministry already made an extraordinary purchase of licenses of almost 400,000 euros to meet the increase in demand.

The Ministry of Culture and Sports in Spain will reinforce eBiblio in 2021 through the Office of the General Director of Books and Reading Promotion, by investing 4 million Euros in new title licenses for free loan and reading services of digital publications in Spanish public libraries. In addition to the expansion of the catalog, improvements to the digital platform will be added, the renewed version of which was published on February 1.

The eBiblio application has incorporated new functionalities. These include different sizes and font types, including a special font for those who suffer from dyslexia, as well as the possibility of audio reading of any title even if it is not an audiobook. With this system it is also possible to have the loans available on several devices simultaneously with the app or to consult the recommendations and selections made by the librarians.
