The collection of children's stories pays tribute to female figures who have changed history with their ideas and creativity.
History is full of exceptional women, although on many occasions their names have dimned and, in some cases, forgotten. Mathematicians, artists, physicists, naturalists, aviators and queens. Thanks to one of them, it is possible to calculate distances in the universe; computers were invented and millions of people enjoy the incredible stories they imagined. Knowing who they are and the role they played is an essential task to compensate for the neglect to which they have been subjected.
Telling their stories to children is one of the ways to combat this imbalance. It is never too early to educate in values ??such as equality and not to offer inspiring references to children. To help in this task, EL PAÍS brings together in the collection of children's books 'Extraordinary Women,' the biographies of some of the most relevant female figures in history, from Frida Khalo to Simone de Beauvoir, Virginia Woolf, Hedy Lamarr, Artemisa Gentilleschi, Rigoberta Menchú, Sophia Scholl and Joan of Arc. Starting Sunday, their stories will be available in EL PAÍS and in the Collections website
