Concha Quirós dies at the age of 85

The owner of the Librería Cervantes worked as a bookseller for more than 60 years.

Last February 24, through a publication on the Cervantes Bookstore's Twitter account, we have received the news of the death of Concha Quirós, owner of the Oviedo bookstore. According to news reports, she died

of natural causes in her home in Oviedo. Concha's life was always linked to books. With a Masters’ Degree in Philosophy and Letters and Education, Quirós worked as a bookseller since 1957, in the business that her father, Alfredo Quirós, opened in 1921. She was the one among her siblings who decided to follow in her father's footsteps, making the Cervantes Bookstore one of the relevant ones in Spain. The Librería Cervantes was awarded the Cultural Library Award in 2002.
