The confinement generated by the pandemic led many buyers to substitute shopping in stores to on-online platforms, accelerating a trend that was already growing rapidly.  The on-demand book, out of stock or out of print, has been an example of the increase in online sales during the time of the confinement. It has not only been in Spain that long tail sales experienced an increase of up to 300% in the height of the pandemic, a 190% increase compared to 2019. Podibooks was started so that booksellers could acquire new titles to sell and offer them in an online catalog.
