Juan Ramón Santos and Pablo Gutiérrez are the winners of the XXIX edition of the Edebé Award

Both have been winners with their first work in children and young adult literature.

Juan Ramón Santos (Plasencia, 1975) wins with the novel “El Club de las Cuatro Emes” (The Four Ems Club) and Pablo Gutiérrez (Huelva, 1978) with the novel “El syndrome de Bergerac” (The Bergerac Syndrome). Unlike recent editions, this year the award has gone to two authors who delve into children and young adult literature for the first time.

In this XXIX edition, 316 original manuscripts have been submitted from all corners of Spain and from many other countries in the world, especially from Latin America. Of these, 200 are children’s literature and 116 are young adult novels.  278 were written in Spanish, 26 in Catalan, 7 in Galician and 5 in Basque.
