Madrid philologist Isabel García Adánez, has been awarded the National Prize for Best Translation 2020 for her work “Siempre la misma nieve y siempre el mismo tío” (Always the Same Snow and Always the Same Guy), by Herta Müller,
a translation from German into Spanish published by the Siruela Publishing House. This was announced Wednesday by the Minister of Culture and Sports, José Manuel Rodríguez Uribes, in his Twitter account in which he assured that the award to García Adánez, "also a translator for Mann, Heine and Roth, is an award well deserved ".
García Adañez, professor of Philology at the Complutense University of Madrid, with a PhD in German Philology and a degree in Spanish Philology, has translated all the essay books and the autobiography of Herta Müller, Romanian-German novelist, poet and Nobel Literature Prize 2009.
