Javier Cercas returns to the cinema for the third time following the success of Soldados de Salamina (2003) and El Autor (2017). Director Daniel Monzón and screenwriter Jorge Guerricaechevarría will adapt The Laws of the Border (2012), which will begin filming in May 2020 and is slated for release the following year.
