This picture book takes the young reader through a brief journey of the life and artistic career of Frida Kahlo—her childhood and young adult years, marked by illness and a serious accident. It discusses how she began to take on painting to cope with her pain, and how she was influenced by the Mexican Muralist Movement. It also discusses her life with her husband Diego Rivera.

Frida Kahlo is part of a series entitled “Little Stories” intended to give children an idea about the lives of great artists such as Dalí, Miró, Picasso, Guadí, and well-known writers such as Federico García Lorca, Juan Ramón Jiménez, Cervantes, Pablo Neruda, Gabriela Mistral and others.
