Spanish publisher Germán Sánchez Ruiperez, the founder of Grupo Anaya, died early Sunday in the Dominican Republic. He was 85.

Spanish publisher Germán Sánchez Ruiperez, the founder of Grupo Anaya, died early Sunday in the Dominican Republic. He was 85.

According to The Latin American Herald Tribune, Sánchez Ruiperez suffered a head injury two days ago and was hospitalized, but he did not recover. The publisher was in the Caribbean with his wife Ofelia.

The newspaper adds that a memorial service will be held on Wednesday in Salamanca and another will be held the following week in Madrid.
