This is a reference work providing guidance for private individuals, booksellers and librarians who at some point may be confronted with the need to monetarily assess tomes in Spanish of great age. The work compiles more than 14,000 entries for book (from incunabula until 1850) and their prices, obtained from booksellers' catalogues. Without having the informative nor organizational richness of the Manual of the Hispanic-American Bookseller by Antonio Palau y Dulcet, it nonetheless helps to clarify many doubts. The work was subsequently expanded in a second volume which covers references to more modern books: From the Generation of '98 to the Literature of the 1960's: A Pricing Guide.
