In 1476, upon his father's death, soldier and poet Jorge Manrique wrote the Coplas, some of the most beatufiul verses ever written in Spanish, in which the idea and image of the passage of time, memory, the sadness which provokes happiness in remembrance will find a resolution diffuclt to surpass.
