PIÑEIRO, Claudia

Born in Buenos Aires in 1960.

Piñeiro became a licensed accountant in 1983 but later left that profession to dedicate herself fully to writing.

She has worked as a journalist, playwright and television scriptwriter and in 1992 won the Pléyade journalism award for best article published that year in women’s magazines.

Piñeiro, who has studied literature and taken part in writing workshops, is the author of the crime novel Tuya(finalist for the 2003 Planeta Prize), Un ladrón entre nosotros (winner of the Norma-Fundalectura Latin American Children and Youth Literature Prize, published by Norma and translated into several languages) and short stories that have been finalists in several international competitions.
