LAUER, Mirko

Mirko Lauer Holoubek, an esteemed professor with a long career in teaching and research, was born in Peru in 1947.

He holds a doctorate in Peruvian and Latin American literature and has been the recipient of numerous scholarships and distinctions.

Lauer was professor and director of Beijing’s Institute of Foreign Languages in 1973-74 and has been a visiting professor and researcher at several foreign universities.

Between 1997 and 2001 he taught Master’s level courses on Peruvian and Latin American literature at Peru’s National University of San Marcos.

He is currently co-director of the cultural magazine Hueso humero, as well as of the Mosca Azul publishing house.

Lauer is also a member of the executive board of the Lima daily La Republica, where he has been a columnist since 1982.
