A Spanish writer born in Ferrol in 1963.

Beccaria holds a PhD in Spanish philology and is a lexicographer who has worked as a linguist at the Royal Spanish Academy since 1987.

She has published two novels – La debutante and La luna en Jorge, the latter a finalist for the Nadal Prize in 2001 – and has written short stories, columns for newspapers and literary criticism.

As part of her research, Beccaria discovered and edited a hitherto unknown comedy by Lope de Vega, El Otomano famoso.She also wrote the storyline for the 2001 film Fausto 5.0, which was produced by the Catalan theater troupe La Fura dels Baus.
