Amaya Amador was an author and journalist who was born April 29, 1916 in Honduras.

His published works include Prisión Verde, Operación Gorila, Cipotes, Bajo el signo de la paz, Jacinta Peralta Biografía de un machete, while another 20 books he wrote remain unpublished.

He began his career as a journalist in 1941 and three years later left his homeland and took up residence in Guatemala.

In 1957, Amaya Amador returned to Honduras and joined the editorial staff of the daily El Cronista.

He died on Nov. 24, 1966 in an airplane crash near Bratislava, in the former Czechoslovakia.
