Eduardo Mendoza has been awarded with the Premio Internacional de Novela Histórica Barcino (Barcino International Historical Novel Award) given by the City of Barcelona.

The members of the jury were: Oscar Lopez, journalist; Care Santos, novelist; Sergi Doria, cultural journalist; Enric Calpena, writer, and the Barcelona Historical Novel Commissioner, Felix Riera, who is also President of the Jury.  According to him: “Mendoza can dissect the greatness and the miseries of the city.”
