Publishing group Planeta will publish and manage the international rights for the books based around these hit Spanish language shows.

The relationship between the book world and audiovisual media continues to grow in both directions. Last year an agreement was signed between Hachette and Epic Games to publish books based on the video game Fortnite. The series Stranger Things (Netflix) was adapted into book form by HarperCollins, the publisher which formed an alliance with Sony early last week.

Netflix has made a five-year deal with the Spanish group Planeta to publish books based on the streaming platform’s successful Spanish language series.
