The Cervantes Institute will collaborate with the Asociación Colegial de Escritores (ACE) on cultural activities, which will boost the readership and the work of Spanish authors internationally, according to the agreement signed on July 2nd by Cervantes director Luis García Montero, and ACE president, Manuel Rico. The Institute will consult with ACE on potential names of authors who will participate in programs at its various overseas centers. ACE will make "non-binding suggestions", Rico stated.

In addition, the Institute's seats in Madrid and Alcalá de Henares may host activities organized by ACE relating to Spanish culture and literature. Lastly, both parties will cooperate in matters of translation and will both make resources available for the aim of spreading Spanish culture throughout the world.
