Some exciting news for Broward County as children will soon be able to get some healthy treats for their mind from a vending machine - free books! Starting Tuesday, four vending machines with about 100,000 books, will be placed across the county in a project led by JetBlue and Random House Children books.

The project is meant to combat "book deserts," which are areas where children have little or no access to books.

It’s the first year that the county has been selected for the honor, after winning an online voting competition in 2016. This year, books will be available in both English and Spanish.
