The Polish Adam Zagajewski wins the Princesa de Asturias de las Letras Prize

The poet Adam Zagajewski (Lwow, Ukraine, 1945) has been awarded with the Princesa de Asturias de las Letras Prize 2017, as announced by the jury, who came together in Oviedo.

The Polish writer has finally joined the ranks of writers such as Juan Mayorga, Javier Marías, David Mamet, Emmanuel Carrère and Antonio Lobo Antunes. A Noble Prize candidate since 2007, Zagajewski has become the first author in the Polish language to win the Princesa de Asturias de las Letras Prize, now in its 37th year, and he was awarded 50,000 euros.”
