Xavier Bosch, Fernando Aramburu, Carles Capdevila and Pau Donés, leading the sales charts of Sant Jordi Book Day

“Xavier Bosch, author of Nosaltres dos (Us Two) and Carles Capdevila, the author of La vida que aprenc (The Life I learn) were the bestselling writers in Catalan fiction and non fiction respectively, up until 19:00 on Sunday, the Day of Sant Jordi. Meanwhile in Spanish, the highest selling fiction author was Fernando Aramburu....

for Patria (Fatherland) and in non fiction it was Pau Donés for 50 palos (50 Sticks). This is according to the first count by the Guild of Booksellers of Catalonia. In a press release, they announced that in Catalan fiction the runners up to Bosch were Pilar Rahola with Rosa de Cendra (Rose of Ash), Jordi Basté and Marc Artigau with Un home cau (A Man Falls), Jaume Cabré with Quan arriba la penumbra (When the Shadows Arrive) and Rafel Nadal with La senyora Stendhal (The Stendhal Woman). In Spanish fiction, the other bestselling writers included David Trueba with Tierra de campos (Rolling Fields), Javier Cercas with El monarca de las sombras (The Monarch of the Shadows), Carlos Ruiz Zafon with El laberinto de los espíritus (The Labyrinth of the Shadows) and Carme Chaparro with No soy un monstruo (I am no Monster).”
