The Association of Publishers of Cultural Magazines of Spain (ARCE) was established in 1983 through the initiative of the editors of cultural magazines themselves, in order to band the necessary resources and instruments for the promotion of these cultural projects and in view of the need to define common actions for the publishers and the public to which these publications are directed.

In its 34 years of existence new journals have been incorporated, which has contributed to strengthen and develop projects of common interest, to intensify the different actions of the Association and to develop an increasingly active role in the promotion of these publications, both inside and outside Spain.

Currently ARCE accumulates the most important journals published in Spain, covering a wide range of topics from literature and art, to social sciences and political thinking, through architecture, design, photography, the performing arts, music and other forms of cultural creation and expression.
