Real Academia Española and Asociación de Academias de la Lengua Española celebrate 50 years since the first edition of Alvaro Vargas Llosa's “La Ciudad y los perros” (“Time of the Hero”) with a commemorative edition published by Alfaguara.

Fifty years ago, Nobel prize Alvaro Vargas Llosa's “La Ciudad y los perros” (Time of the Hero) was first published and won the Biblioteca Breve award. To celebrate the anniversary, El País reports that Real Academia Española and Asociación de Academias de la Lengua Española are publishing the commemorative edition produced by Alfaguara.

The newspaper adds that the 768 pages-book, on sale Wednesday, was revised by the Peruvian author.
