Literania 2017, a festival for the promotion of reading

Literania 2017 is a literary festival, and it is going to launch a tour through all the main cities of Spain celebrating a literary festival for the promotion of reading.

This festival will be a fusion of theater, music, gastronomy and regional folklore; however, the idea behind this proposal is to create a cultural event where literature is front and center. Literania 2017 boasts two main objectives: to support the writers and to stimulate reading. Usually, authors are faced with enormous difficulties when trying to make their works known, but in Literania they will receive the support and the endorsement that they rarely get during those trying beginnings.  In the pursuit of Literania’s other main goal, the promotion of reading, we the organizers have been programming various activities throughout Spain. Creating literary synergy between the small publishing houses, the local writers associations, and other cultural entities is necessary when it comes to face the difficult challenge that is the promotion of reading in our society.

All the writers, literary associations and small publishing houses that wish to promote their books will be able to participate at the festival. There will also be a space for literary bloggers, as well as professionals from that sector. Bookstores will also be able to participate.
