The RAE renews its web with the latest edition of the 'Dictionary'

The RAE renews its web with the latest edition of the 'Dictionary'. The new online version, sponsored by La Caixa, improves its navigability and adds an option to complete words.

The latest edition of the Dictionary of the Spanish language has been incorporated since last October 13, 2016 to the website of the Royal Spanish Academy. This 23rd version of the Dictionary -the institution's tricentennial- has an air of farewell to the paper because, as has been announced several times the director of the RAE, Darío Villanueva, the next ones will be launched with a purely digital vocation. Yesterday in the RAE auditorium and just a year after the printed edition was introduced,  the RAE presented this new digital version, which for the first time has a sponsor. La Caixa Social Work will contribute around one million euros per year during the next triennium. The president of La Caixa and the founder of this bank, Isidro Fainé, affirmed that "the Dictionary is more alive than ever thanks to being digital". This tool, he added, "encourages the use of language in all corners of the country. The power of words is to know how to use them. "
