Páginas de Espuma reclaims Eloy Tizón’s already classic book and publishes again 'Velocidad de los jardines' (‘The Speed of Gardens’)

Paraphrasing Gardel, we could say that twenty years is nothing, but the phrase goes beyong its platitudinous roots in the case of Eloy Tizón’s short story collection ‘Velocidad de los jardines’ (‘The Speed of Gardens’).

With its publication in 1992, a book was born that has transcended to the most diverse generations as an indispensable reading for those who want to know about the contemporary short story. To celebrate it, Páginas de Espuma is reissuing it, both in a regular edition and a special one – a hardcover in only 999 copies that include 36 pages of exclusive photos. In the words of literary critic Miguel Carreira, this work by Eloy Tizón is “probably the most revered short story collection in this country in the past twenty years, and no doubt the most influential. ‘Velocidad de los jardines’ is nothing less than a touchstone that can allow us to understand the most recent generation of short stories in Spain. There has been no other book in Spain during the last twenty years, neither in narrative nor in essay, and not even in poetry as far as I can tell, that falls closer to such a thing.”
