‘Leemos’ (We Read), a free digital platform for young readers.

On February 15th, at the auditorium of Espacio Fundación Telefónica, we will present ‘Leemos’ (WE Read), a new digital project for the promotion of reading, born of a desire to create a program for a real improvement of the reading comprehension of students.

Developed by the Telefónica Foundation and the José Manuel Lara Foundation, ‘Leemos’ is a digital platform free of charge and based of an environment of recommended reading materials with three differentiated spaces: faculty, young readers, and families. The new digital project by the Telefónica Foundation and the José Manuel Lara Foundation for the promotion of reading in the classrooms will be presented on February 15 in Madrid.

‘Leemos’ faces head-on the challenge of providing a new way to stimulate the habit of reading, which focuses on the students as well as the faculty and the families, by means of a free platform with services and reading material without parallel in Spain. The goal is to get 100,000 students to join the adventure of reading.

What is the current situation of reading in Spain? How can we promote a passion for reading in the classrooms? These are some of the questions that we will debate at the event, where journalist and writer Mónica Carrillo will act as moderator, and that will feature the participation of well-known personalities such as Carmen Pellicer, President of the Trilema Foundation, and writer Care Santos, among others.
