Enrique Bocanegra wins the Comillas Prize

“The jury for the Comillas Prize for History, Biography and Memoir has given the award to Un espía en la trinchera. Kim Philby en la guerra civil española (A Spy in the Trenches. Kim Philby in the Spanish Civil War).

The writer Enrique Bocanegra has won the 29th Comillas Prize for Un espía en la trinchera (A Spy in the Trenches) a novel that the jury hailed for its “excellent, in-depth portrayal of the British spy Kim Philby during the Spanish Civil War, an experience that made him one of the most important spies of the 20th Century.

The Comillas Prize, which received 63 entries, is worth an advance of 12,000 euros, and a bronze statue designed by Joaquín Camps.”
