The movie, based on José Zorrilla's “Don Juan Tenorio”, is featured this week at the Días de Cine Reading Club. This initiative is sponsored by the America Reads Spanish program and the American Library Association to promote literature and the Spanish language in American libraries and universities.

This week, Días de Cine Reading Club presents “Amar y morir en Sevilla” with Antonio Doblas, Ana Ruiz and José Luis García Pérez, directed by Víctor Alcázar. The movie will be available until May 13th to the participating libraries and universities.

Don Juan Tenorio, accompanied by his faithful servant Ciutti, returns to Seville to settle the bet he made with Don Luis Mejia. The bet rewards the one who's good fortune has allowed to commit the worst deeds. Since they have each killed a similar number of men and seduced the same women, they now make a new bet. To win this bet, Don Juan has to ravish a novice nun and a damsel about to get married within six days. Don Juan warns Don Luis that the damsel will be Doña Ana de Pantoja, who is engaged to marry Don Luis. The loser of the bet will forfeit his life.
