Centro Cultural Español Miami invites to enjoy Spanish films at the Miami International Film Festival

The Miami International Film Festival is celebrating its 29th anniversary this year. And Spain has an outstanding representation, with 11 productions and co-productions, the most at this year's festival.

The Miami Internationl Film Festival is celebrating its 29th anniversary this year. And Spain is having an outstanding representation, with 11 productions and co-productions, the most at this year's festival. The Spanish films to be screened this year are:

BARACOA, WHERE CUBA BEGAN

A FILM BY MAURICIO VINCENT MULET (Cuba, Spain, 61 min, 2011)
Spanish journalist Mauricio Vincent Mulet covered Cuba for El País for 20 years, but was deported for this depiction of the joy of dialy life for rural Cubans in the eastern province.

El periodista español Mauricio Vincent Mulet corresponsal de El País en Cuba por 20 años fue deportado por este proyecto en el que representaba la alegría de la vida cotidiana de los cubanos en las zonas rurales del este en la isla.

CALVET

A FILM BY DOMINIC ALLAN (Spain, United Kingdom, 86 min 2011)
The story of former drug addict Calvet and his journey to creating the harrowing masterpieces that have galvanized the art world. An exhibit of Calvet's work will open at Miami Dade College's Freedom Tower in conjunction with MIFF's presentation.

La historia de un ex adicto a las drogas y su viaje a la creación de desgarradoras obras maestras que han galvanizado el mundo del arte. La exposición de la obra de Calvet se abrirá en Miami Dade College's Freedom Tower en relación con la presentación MIFF.
