Isabel Allende and the power of magic

Voxxi publishes this piece by Veronique de Miguel on how the Chilean author influenced her. Of course she writes about Allende the author, but also about the immigrant and the woman behind a foundation to help others in need.

“When I think of authors, Isabel Allende is the writer I most identify with. In Allende’s work I find a sort of echo of my own voice,” writes de Miguel. “Her small stature and immense mind opened the doors of the world as told by a woman, not necessarily a feminist voice. She serves as a before and an after for me, or perhaps I should say that she taught me a way of thinking and feeling. I don’t know if I am as I am by her influence, or if I like her so much because I am as I am.” Read the complete story here.
