Prevalence of educational and professional books in 2012

“El País” analyzes the new ranking in the publishing industry worldwide, conducted by Rüdiger Wischenbart. In 2012, 59 large publishing groups in 16 countries reached a volume of 57 billion euros. Pearson is the number one publisher with almost seven billion euros in sales, followed by Random House. From Spain, Planeta is eighth and Santillana 25th.
