June cultural events in New York includes literature, film and music

Spain Culture New York presents “Velázquez, The Dark Psychology Of The Spanish Baroque” and “Celebrating Federico García Lorca”, both on June 4th; and “Federico García Lorca: Poetry In Drawing”, June 12th, among other events schedule for this month.

Velázquez, The Dark Psychology Of The Spanish Baroque: Art Historian Jerrilyn Dodds explores the art and politics of 17th century Habsburgh Spain through the unique genius of Velázquez and his most compelling paintings, from the enigmatic Las Meninas to the powerful Triumph of Bacchus. This event is June 4th at 6.30 p.m. at 92Y Tribeca, 200 Hudson St, New York, NY.

Celebrating Federico García Lorca: Paul Holdengraber, director of LIVE from NYPL, presents a special installment of the Library's series celebrating Lorca's legacy. With appearances by John Giorno, Will Teen, Tracy K. Smith, Christopher Maurer, Philip Levine, Paul Muldoon, and Patti Smith. June 4th at 7 p.m. at the New York Public Library, Stephen A.
