Head of Guadalajara Book Fair resigns

Nubia Macías Navarro has put an end to a decade in charge of the International Book Fair of Guadalajara. Her resignation has been a surprise, both in Mexico and in the publishing community around the globe. Macias resigned Thursday with a statement and refused to comment further, reports "El País".

“Under Macias' management, the Guadalajara Book Fair underwent a profound transformation to become a reference in the Spanish literary,” says El País. “Around 500 writers per year pass through the Mexican city to attend the fair, which in 2012 received more than 700,000 visitors.”
