Spain celebrates Bookstore Day on November 13

This year's poster is the work of the Alicante illustrator Ximo Abadía (Alicante 1983). The 2020 Libraries Day campaign has already started in Spain, and will be held on November 13th.

An event that will undoubtedly be marked by health circumstances and with which bookstores want to thank the support received in recent months, in addition to highlighting the important role they play both in the book sector and in society with their roots in the neighborhoods and the creation of reading communities. Promoted by CEGAL and with the support of the General Directorate of Books and Reading Promotion of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, this campaign began with the presentation of this year’s  poster.

From CEGAL and during the next days they would like to emphasize the struggle of bookstores to stay alive and active, energizing the social, economic and cultural fabric of their environments and the support received not only from the industry, but from a society that is taking care of the so-called economic trust, in addition to defending individual space and time for reading.
