Best-selling author Eva García Sáenz de Urturi, wins the Planeta Award with a historical thriller.

Almost all the letters of the alphabet, from A Eva to Z of Sáenz, are included this year in a Planeta award that, in the absence of bells and whistles, has chosen to overflow headlines by handing over its coveted check (601,000 Euros) to -take a deep breath- Eva García Sáenz de Urturi.

The writer from Alava, responsible for one of the publishing sensations of the last decade, with the «Trilogy of the White City», has taken after Javier Cercas, winner of the last edition, with the novel «Aquitania», (Aquitaine), a historical thriller that relates the life of Eleanor of Aquitaine. "It is a tribute to 'The Name of the Rose', a founding Game of Thrones of what will be Europe," explained the author before dedicating the award to the 33,000 victims caused by the coronavirus in Spain.
