The Spanish e-book program ODILO is being used by Salem Public Library

Salem readers have turned to e-books during the pandemic.

(...) In Salem Public Library, downloaded e-books jumped by about 5,000 from March through July over the same period last year.

“It’s absolutely taken off since COVID,” Salem’s library director, Tara Mansfield, said.

Readers are downloading their e-books on all kinds of devices, Mansfield said. “It’s across the board. We have people use the first-generation Kindle up to the very latest iPhone,” she said.

In addition to Overdrive, Salem offers hoopla (with e-books, music, and movies) and a Spanish language e-book program called ODILO (...)
