Twelve Latin Americans candidates to the Real Academia 2020 Literary Awards

Among the candidates are five novels, one book of poems and six essays. To date, the Secretaría Académica de la RAE (Academic Cabinet of the RAE) has received twelve literary Latin American and Spanish entries to the XVII Edition of the Premio Real Academia Española, .....

which this year is open to any literary work in any genre.  The award is gifted with 20,000 Euros and a commemorative medal.  As required by award regulations, the works entered must have been published no more than two years prior to the call to entries.

Of the twelve candidates, each must be endorsed by at least three different professors from the RAE or any of its corresponding academies.  Five entries are from Spain and the rest come from Latin America: Nicaragua, Ecuador, Venezuela, Chile, Paraguay Mexico and Peru.
